Exotic woods are popular among picky and trendy homeowners.  And this is not just because of the different kind of elegance and beauty of exotic woods.  It is also because exotic woods are extremely durable and strong.  They resist termites and other small organism that easily rot wood. 

Exotic woods come in different patterns and colors.  Some of the more popular kinds of exotic woods include the following:

Brazilian cherry has colors ranging from russet brown to dark orange.  The Brazilian cherry is very hard.

Red Oak is one of the common and preferred types of exotic woods.  Many homes and other areas with traditional theme favor the Red Oak exotic wood because of its broad and consistent rippled pattern.  Red Oak also stains easily well and its strength can stand against a heavy traffic of people.

Australian cypress has closed grain and color ranges from honey gold to pale yellow.  It has excellent durability that can match the hard maple.

Brazilian walnut has a variety of colors ranging from dark brown to light yellow.  It is very hard and durable and be a little difficult to work with.  But it can last a very long time.

Pine has grainy patterns that can swirl or simply form stripes.  It has a wide array of colors choices like clear or pink knots, blue-black sap stains and different shades of yellow.  Pine exotic wood is relatively inexpensive but extremely beautiful.

African padauk has a straight to interlocked grain.  This can make it quite difficult to work with but this can be made worth it with its unique beauty brought about by its distinctive reddish purple color.
